Hey, PatternTap!July 10th 2009

Listen up!  I love your website.  I really do. It’s a super useful location for browsing thousands of design elements.  But is in in NEED.  Of what you may ask, some new feature that will just crowd the UI?  Nope.  Some new category that we don’t currently have?  Nope.  Then how are we in need??

View.

All.

Button.

That’s it.  Three simple words, one easy button, and a world full of win.  Viewing 90 is nice, but viewing all is better.  Now I’ll admit, it doesn’t take me long to edit the URL of a collection to force the page to display all of the thumbnails anyway:

http://patterntap.com/tap/collection/21/1/90

becomes

http://patterntap.com/tap/collection/21/1/259

But I have to do this every.single.time.  Can you pretty please spend the 5 minutes it might take to add a View All button?  I would love you even more, and I’m sure other people would as well.  Come on, do it for the children.

    Hey Josh,

I have somewhat of the same concern, but my main beef with PatternTap is that they aalways show the same collections on their homepage when they should actually show popular ones or recently updates ones (that latter would be better)

Also, I would really want a lightbox when clicking the screenshots, not a completely new page, if I do want to see a full page, I could still open it up in a new tab.

    Send them an email ;)

    Eelco,

If I wanted to only ever see one collection, that would be a fine solution. But they have many collections, and many user collections. I want the ability to select by default a view all option for any collection/user collection I want, and other users to have that same option. It’s much more usable for everyone if they added a simple button to the view options.

    Hi Josh,

    Do you write code?

Why not write a small greasemonkey script to do this for you each time.
